On Monday 24th April 2017, the Bibra Lake Scout Group participated in the ANZAC day vigil overnight guarding the memorial. The Scouts stayed up most of night and worked in patrols to continue the vigil all night. Those who got some sleep including the Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers then setup ready for the dawn service. They then had breakfast at the oval and participated in some traditional two up games before heading to the RSL for the ANZAC day march. They then presented floral tributes at the service followed by a sausage sizzle lunch at the RSL.
Youth members from the ages of 6-26 participated in these events from all sections including the Joey Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers. The leaders were very proud of the commitment that was made by these amazing youth and they represented the Scouts and the RSL well. We also had great parent helpers who assisted with serving supper, cooking breakfast and cooking the sausage sizzle at the RSL.
